Update 8/1/18: Sorghum planting is complete across the Liverpool Plains and Northern NSW. The summer started well but has turned hot and dry resulting in short fallow crops suffering. Long fallow crops are generally hanging on OK but recent high temperatures and a lack of rain is hurting yield prospects again. The area sown to sorghum is expected to be a little below average and current conditions would also indicated lower than average yields. Demand is mostly domestic but their is talk that China will once again look for Australian sorghum in 2018.
