Chicago wheat and corn futures continued to push lower. Soybeans closed in the green, dragging ICE canola futures at Winnipeg higher. The move higher in Winnipeg canola and Chicago beans was not reflected in Paris rapeseed futures which closed flat to lower. Both London feed wheat and Paris milling wheat futures were lower by the close, staying in step with the Chicago wheat and corn pit.
Local crop APW / CBOT SRWW basis firmed a little for both the old crop and the new crop. Indicating that domestic, and possibly export, prices are being supported by both the trade and consumer here currently.

Hot, dry weather will be welcome across much of the US HRWW and SRWW regions in the following week. Much of Kansas and the Panhandle saw rain delays this week but with the forecast showing little to no rain across the HRWW belt for the coming week wheat harvest progress should pickup. High temperatures across much of Oklahoma and western Kansas should also see the last of the crop be ready for the header. Soft red winter wheat across the more southerly producing states will also move to towards maturity quickly as the heat persists.

Heat across southern Russia will also see harvest pickup there. Conditions will remain cool to average across the Russian and Kazakhstan spring wheat region. Keeping what is currently shaping up as a very good season there pumping along.
Hot conditions across some of the sorghum production regions in China should have little impact, rainfall has generally been OK for the Chinese sorghum crop, possibly just a little on the light side in the NW but temperatures 2C – 3C above normal shouldn’t be a concern.
Durum harvest conditions across Italy and southern France looks to be good. Italy seeing better than expected yields, and quality is exceptional.
